What can one say, we moan when it is raining, moan when it is windy, moan when it is cold and yes, now we are moaning because it is so hot!
The summer has arrived the sky is blue, the sun is shinning and the beach is packed. I must say, I myself took a newspaper on Saturday afternoon and sat near the beach and it was great.
The Andalusian Golf Championship was held here in Alcaidesa with an excellent turnout of 96 professionals from the golf world. Then on the Friday (27th June) they held the Pro-Am Competition and yes, have you guessed who was invited to play?
You are right, Laines was invited to enter a player into this competition and so I did and that player was Victor Battista. Victor really enjoyed the competition and played with Pablo Menjibar Sanchez, the professional from the Seville and Sotogrande Golf Clubs, Francisco Carrillo Davila and Juan Jose Palcios Hierro. Victor even won a prize and we had a really good afternoon at the presentation, where Nicola, Victors wife joined us for drinks and nibbles. It was really good of the Golf Club to invite us and we look forward to the next competition.

Volvo was on the 24th June unveiled as the new exclusive title sponsor and joint Management Partner of the World Match Play Championship ahead of its 45th anniversary in 2009 in an innovative initial three-year agreement with IMG, which created the iconic event in 1964.
Along with a new Champions League format and qualification criteria, the newly-named Volvo World Match Play Championship will also move to a new home, the 7,439-yard Par-72 Finca Cortesín Golf Club in Casares (20 minutes from Alcaidesa) in the Andalucia region of Spain and will see a stellar match play field going head-to-head for a million-dollar-plus champions cheque.

As one chapter commences, another concludes with the industry-leading Volvo Masters taking the final curtain in what is sure to be emotive and dramatic fashion with a record 4.25million (approx. US$6.6million / SEK40million) prize fund on offer at Valderrama from October 30 November 2, 2008. Also, as a result of this new commitment it has been confirmed by IMG that there will not be a 2008 edition of the World Match Play Championship.

Alcaidesa will soon have a shopping centre, currently being built by the Diursa property group, at the service of residents and visitors. Located in the lower area of Alcaidesa, an outstanding enclave between Sotogrande and Gibraltar, it will bring together the main local businesses and big national and international chains and will make up for the resorts lack of shops and services.
Occupying a plot of 3,189 square metres, the 1,920 mÇ building will be have four floors housing 17 business premises, 53 parking spaces, spacious outdoor areas with unbeatable views over the Straits of Gibraltar and 1,269 mÇ of gardens.

The crippled nuclear sub HMS Superb came into Gibraltar under cover of darkness.
The Government of Gibraltar said it would welcome the vessel, Spanish political parties and environmental groups in the Campo de Gibraltar were not so help and talking about arranging protests. The sub is thinking about heading home to England, as the weather is so good, so if you think you see Nessie going by, if will properly just be the sub as it has to keep on the surface.
It looks like the land in Linea by the border with Gibraltar, is going to be used to develop the airport. In the past the land could only be used for border and customs but now has been give the go ahead for the development of airport services.
Yes, La Linea Football Club has been promoted and would you believe 8,000 people gathered in the Plaza de la Constitucion in La Linea last Monday to celebrate the promotion of their team Real Balompedica to Division 2B in the nation soccer league.
I have no idea what 2B is but well done Real Balompedica, I wonder what colour they play in, anybody out there know?
Thats what I said, Men Learning to Iron Fifteen non-ironers can sign up for Fuengirolas beginners course on the 3rd and 4th of July. Councillor for equality Ana Mata said the object of this workshop is for men to become more involved in domestic chores and not give the excuse they do not know how or no one has ever taught them.
That started me thinking, how about if you are coming to Alcaidesa we could get together, hire the Golf Club and give lessons on everything that men dont know about Domestic Chores. The only thing about this idea is you would have to spend at least 6 month in Alcaidesa training your man!!
Or if you are here on 3rd or 4th just let me know and I will personally enrol them for this Course, it is really good value at just 6 Euros !!!!!!!!!!!!
